Professor Stewart earned her B.S. from Cornell University and her J.D. from N.Y.U. Law School. She is currently the Associate Professor of Clinical Education and Associate Director of the Children & Youth Law Clinic at the University of Miami School of Law. As a former social worker for teenagers in foster care, she supervises clinic students who handle cases involving children in the foster care system. Professor Stewart engages in impact litigation and law reform advocacy aimed at addressing the needs of at-risk children. She also serves on the legislative Independent Living Services Advisory Council, the board of the Clinical Legal Education Association, and on the Caribbean Bar Association.
